Recent food photography work for Cake & Spoon, a locally owned business in Austin who makes wonderful desserts! You may be familiar with their delicious tarts sold at Franklin BBQ and all of their products are sold at the farmers markets here in Austin as well. They are passionate about using locally sourced ingredients and farm fresh eggs. Their savory quiche are delicious as well. Wish I had one right now! Food styling by Style Me Foods.
KLRU, Austin’s local PBS station filmed me back in February for a short film about photographers and Texas Photo Roundup, a 3 day event for commercial and editorial photographers I produced with Jasmine Defoore on behalf of ASMP Austin/San Antonio and ACP. Thank you Eve Tarlo for including me in this! It aired last month but you can watch it on KLRU Collective.
As you may know, I am a producer of Texas Photo Roundup put on by ASMP ASA and ACP here in Austin. I also put together the Lockhart BBQ workshop with amazing photographer, Wyatt McSpadden. It was a lot of fun! A great day to work with Wyatt, see how he approaches environmental portraits, network with fun people, and EAT! Here are my behind the scenes photos of that day.
I added a new page for my motion work. Looking forward to more collaboration in video!
I shot this waffle cover for the February issue of Austin Monthly on news stands now. Wish you could smell how amazingly fragrant these were from the Tahitian vanilla bean they used, they smelled heavenly! This was shot at Trace restaurant located in the W Hotel in Austin.
New work I partnered with architectural photographer and friend, Lars Frazer combining the best of both our talents to create beautiful lifestyle architecture and interior photography for PSW Real Estate. I’m really excited about these images and it was great to collaborate on this too. They wanted pictures that weren’t the average boring builder look that shows an entire room, so Lars brought me in to bring “the pretty”, together creating images that show homes and neighborhoods that you might want to live in. Styling and details bring it all together and they now have magazine worthy images that really show not just a house or a development, but a lifestyle, a home, and a neighborhood. Definitely check them out if you’re looking for a new home in the heart of Austin.
I wanted to share some recent work that was pretty different than anything I have shot before. This was a lifestyle + electric vehicle assignment I did for Austin Energy and it was really a lot of fun! We shot electric vehicles charging, driving, parked, in both a residential and urban setting, even electric bicycles. The electric bikes were provided by Rocket Electric and they looked like so much fun, I loved the design of the bikes. AE will use these in different ways including their latest newsletter (below).
Check out my cover and spread for the November issue of Austin Woman magazine! I photographed Donna Hicks and her fabulous Austin home. Here are some of the tear sheets and some other images they didn’t print. Read the digital issue here.
This is a recent project I did with friend and food stylist Meghan Erwin Hack of Style Me Foods for a dark fall food still life. I am in love with this! This is the first in a promotional seasonal series. The look and feel of each will reflect that of each season. The pretzels and beer are a nod to Octoberfest surrounded by the colors and seasonal produce of Fall. All of the props came from our personal prop stash and we styled this together. Usually my work is bright, airy, and clean so I really enjoyed this little trip to the dark side to create a moody and highly styled look! I would love to do more!
This is a great opportunity to mention that I work with a great team in Austin for editorial and commercial food photography, including recipe development, food and prop styling, production, and video. While I’m available to travel and often do, we can also do food photography here because I work with such a talented team of creative and experienced professionals.
New tear sheets from the current issue of ATX Man magazine. I shot the lead for their beer story and as my friend Marcy pointed out, it’s a beer centerfold! I love it! Below are some of the other images I photographed at Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden and Brew Exchange in Austin. This was a fun assignment that was more on the manly side of things and I really enjoyed it! That glass is a Liter of Beer by the way.
